66C Gray Road, Claris, Aotea / Great Barrier Island

Let's work together.

Every little
bit helps!

Sorting and separating our waste is not only the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do.

The more people reduce their waste to landfill, the better it will be for Aotea/ Great Barrier Island.

|

By thinking about how to minimise the amount of waste brought to the island and how best to dispose of the things we no longer need, we’ll reach our goal of zero waste to landfill by 2040

What is the crc?

Community Recycling Centre

The aim of the CRC is to reduce waste to landfill by reusing, re-purposing and recycling as much as possible. The CRC is responsible for all recycling on the island. Aotea Community Recycling Centre is where you can drop off unwanted items and materials suitable for reuse and recycling. The centre has a shop on site which sells reuseable household and building materials. Anamata Community Enterprise, contracted to operate the CRC, transports recyclables off-island for further processing and explores on-island uses for materials.
